Joyce Rice, noted composer, teacher, and harpist, recently retired after harping since the age of four. Over five decades she was an active freelancer and principal harpist with numerous orchestras in New England/New York and the Pacific Northwest. Joyce is also well known as a harp arranger and pedagogue. She studied with Gladys and Kenneth Custance of Boston and with Bernard Zighera of the Boston Symphony, and holds a music degree from Wellesley College. She is chair of www.harpspectrum.org which was reputed as the best harp website on the Internet by Beesker in 2007.

Angela Kaye Morgan – Soprano
Angela began her vocal studies with Bob Swanson and has honed her vocal talents under the direction of Peter Herpst. She serves as a soloist regularly for Christ Episcopal Church in Puyallup as well as the South Sound Classical Choir. This concert marks a return engagement for Angela at Daniels Recital Hall after her performance in April of this season.

Lynn Andersen – Solo English Handbells
Lynn is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Utah where he received a Degree in Humanities and where he began his performance career on the Folkdance Ensemble as a Clogger. His ardent love of music has taken him into many facets of the art. He frequently performed in dance, singing or at the piano while serving as a Mormon Missionary in Vienna, Austria for several years. Returning to Utah, Lynn became a member of the Utah Valley Handbell Choir where he used his natural ability with rhythm and expression to develop his style in playing. Lynn is heard weekly playing bells on television and now records for International Artist Records where he performs exclusively on Schulmerich Bells.

Mark Andersen – Organ, Handbells, Harp
Mark is the Artist in Residence to Daniels Recital Hall and president of the American Harp Society, Greater Seattle Chapter as well as president of International Artists Records which produces the weekly television show, Crescendo! in Seattle and New York. Mark studied organ and harp in Paris and has 27 albums recorded featuring his original compositions on CD and DVD. As a composer, Mark has twice won the International Composer’s Competition in Amsterdam, Holland for his original music.

Many of the performances heard at Daniels Recital Hall can later be heard on public television, iTunes, and Youtube. Watch for us on line and over cable TV in Seattle and New York. We also produce DVDs of each concert performed. If you would like a copy please be sure to let us know.
